“Hope During Times of Disaster” During times of stress and suffering like those that
we are currently in, when we are struggling to make sense of the
increasingly hostile world around us, it is a natural reaction for
unbelievers to reassess their belief in God. If you are seeking the
truth I would like to share it with you. The truth of Jesus Christ. When disaster strikes, people can often be heard to
say “A loving God would not allow this to happen” and reject Him. This
cannot be further from the truth. God loves us very much, so much that
He sent his Son to die for our sins. But He is not the ruler of this
earth. The ruler of this earth is Satan. And he is a destroyer. Although God is not the ruler of this world He will
step in and take care of His own, But only if they ask. We ask by
praying, giving honor to Him and obeying His laws. At one time America
was a great country, blessed and protected by God precisely because we
did these things. People prayed and read the Bible in schools. The Ten
Commandments and other Biblical symbols were inscribed on our federal
buildings and depicted on their walls. But this is no longer the case.
We have rejected God and His laws, and in doing so have brought disaster
upon ourselves. You see, God gave us a free will. When we exercise that
free will and reject God
it is
not that God is punishing us, but that He has withdrawn His protection
from us, as per our request. You may be familiar of the story of the prodigal son.
The son takes his inheritance, leaves the protection of his father’s
house and squanders it on wine, women and song. When his inheritance
runs out he soon falls into hard times, homeless and hungry. After a
while he realizes that even the servants of his father are better off
than his current situation. He decides to go back to his father’s house
and beg for a job as a servant.
My friend, don’t you see? All of us are prodigal
sons! God loves you so much! Even though you may have rejected Him, He
is eagerly awaiting your return, ready to run to your aid with
outstretched arms! Thank you for reading this. Please consider this
matter carefully; your eternity is at stake. God gave you a free will so
please choose wisely.
What you need to do to be saved:
1)
Admit that you are a sinner:
All you need to do is realize that you are not a perfect person, but a
sinner. We are all sinners.
2)
Ask Forgiveness:
Ask Jesus to forgive your sins and save you from God’s punishment. If
you ask this you will be forgiven, no matter what sins you may have
committed! 3) Develop a Relationship with Christ: You need to develop a personal relationship with Jesus. You do this by praying (talking) to Him and reading the Bible, and trying your best to follow God’s laws. You will not be perfect, but as long as you are trying the best that you can God will be with you. He will never leave you unless you ask Him to. When you mess up and sin just ask God to forgive you and He will, as long as you are sincere. God knows your heart and thoughts even better than you and can tell if you really mean it. God will talk to you! As you talk to Him he will talk to you in your thought life, thru the Bible and thru others in your life. It is a wondrous thing that the creator of the universe cares so much for us as to talk to us! ![]() |
